in Computer Science from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, and worked for Samsung Electronics in South Korea for four and half years as a software engineer.

My research interests lie in Artificial Intelligence, especially addressing computational challenges in user modeling, such as player intent modeling and student knowledge/affect modeling in educational games, through which I aim to create highly adaptive interactive software.

In parallel, I have examined a suite of multimodal data streams (e.g., behavioral gameplay data, physiological signals, bodily expressions) via machine learning techniques including deep neural networks, probabilistic graphical models, and collaborative filtering techniques.

Additionally, I’m interested in computational linguistics, particularly analyzing students’

natural language responses for tasks such as affect recognition, normalizing noisy text, and short answer assessment.
