Connecting AI with Industrial Robotics – Launch of RICAIP Project
Virtual and augmented reality for remote industrial production control or a system for its rapid adaptation according to the customer's current needs and available production resources - these are just a few challenges that will be treated by researchers in the RICAIP project, in wich four partners (CIIRC CTU in Prague, CEITEC BUT in Brno and institutes ZeMa and DFKI in Germany) will cooperated.Festively launched today at CIIRC CTU in Prague, in the presence of more than a hundred distinguished guests, RICAIP pushes the boundaries of today’s understanding of the automated industrial production towards the multi-site flexible production.
'I am convinced that the project will provide significant support for SMEs while becoming a tool both for an effective extension of cooperation with German partners and increasing of our contribution to the EU's production potential development,'he added, assuring on the project's importance and full support from the Czech government.
Also important is the fact that RICAIP will contribute to the expansion of modern education of students and PhD students at CTU and BUT,” saidProfessor Vladimír Mařík, Scientific Director of CIIRC CTU.“The international RICAIP project will not only enable virtual interconnection of various laboratories for intelligent production throughout Europe, but it also brings the possibility of significant research cooperation with German partners directly for BUT.
RICAIP aims to build a unique distributed research and experimental workstation “RICAIP Industrial Testbed Core”, the first of its kind in Europe to develop and test innovative solutions for advanced and fully integrated industrial production, constantly optimizing to the changing environment.

Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the European Commission, stressed that obtaining this support is an appreciation of the exceptional quality of the project under evaluation, and also pointed out that only one in 15 of the submitted generally high quality projects received funding from the EU.
He pointed out: “CLAIRE and RICAIP are highly synergistic, and having a strong presence of both organizations here in Prague is good for the Czech Republic, and better yet for Europe.” By now, RICAIP and CLAIRE are connected not only through the common challenges in the field of AI but also by the CIIRC CTU premises in Prague – Dejvice.
His main research field is Artificial Intelligence covering a wide range of intelligent abilities, including vision, robotic behavior, conceptual representations and language.
During the past decade he has focused on theories for the origins and evolution of language using computer simulations and robotic experiments to discover and test them.

The concept „AI-Space for Intelligent Health Systems“ (KI-SIGS) aims at addressing the structural change of the economy, labour market and society caused by the digitalisation.
The increasing digitalisation in health science, medicine and medical technology is leading to a large number of big, heterogenic, complex and partially unstructured data sets in all areas of life sciences.
This will help the companies in the Northern-German area in raising their competitiveness as well as the universities and research institutes like the DFKI, which then can introduce new interesting projects together with the companies.

SPAICER Project Wins the AI Innovation Competition of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy
These can be external disturbances, such as delays in logistics, raw material shortages and politically motivated trade barriers, but also internal disturbances, such as illness, tool breakdowns and production stoppages.
SPAICER will thus make a contribution to "AI made in Germany", with which an international trademark for modern, safe and public welfare oriented AI applications is to be developed on the basis of the European canon of values.
